Eisenbichler back in the first division
Markus Eisenbichler is back in the first division as part of the DSV's four-man squad for the Summer Grand Prix in Courchevel. Last season, the 2019 World Champion was not part of the World Cup team and had to find his feet in the Continental Cup instead. Now he's making the leap back just in time for the start of the Summer Grand Prix. Karl Geiger will also be competing in Courchevel on Tuesday and Wednesday. Ben Bayer and Jannik Faißt, two of the DSV's young talents, will also be taking part.
Other prominent athletes from the last season's World Cup will not be taking part in the first competition, including Andreas Wellinger, who finished third in the overall World Cup and second in the last Four Hills Tournament, as well as Stephan Leyhe, Pius Paschke, Philipp Raimund and Constantin Schmid.
There will also be top stars from other nations in France, including last season's overall World Cup winner Stefan Kraft, Poland's Dawid Kubacki and the two Swiss athletes Gregor Deschwanden and Kilian Peier.
A total of two individual competitions are on the schedule for the first Summer Grand Prix. The next events will be in Wisla (expected 13-15.09.), Rasnov (20-22.9.), Hinzenbach (27-29.09.) and Klingenthal (04-06.10.).
